Fighting for Fitness is pleased to announce our partnership with the Saddleback Valley Unified School District’s Department of Recreation and Community Services and the City of Mission Viejo to help get kids moving this summer! Fighting for Fitness will be bringing its unique “MMA Inspired” Fitness classes to the Summer Kid’s Factory program to 14 sites within the district and well over 200 kids.
The classes will be held from June 27th – August 26th at the following schools and sites: Barcelona Hills, Bathgate, Carl Hankey, Castille, Cordillera, De Portola, Del Cerro, Del Lago, Linda Vista, Glen Yermo, Philip Reilly@ Pavion Park, Norman P. Murray Community & Senior Center, Montevideo, & Viejo.
Fighting for Fitness is proud to be associated with the Kid’s Factory program which brings quality supervised activities to 1st through 6th graders at little or no cost!
Michael Carranza: Fighting for his own fitness!
When school started this year for Michael Carranza, a 5th grader in Mrs Cuevas class at Laguna Niguel Elementary School, he did not look forward to PE. He especially found the mile run to be difficult. Michael would find himself walking most of the way and felt embarrassed in front of his classmates and even in front of the teachers!
Michael’s parents decided that he needed assistance to get into shape and turned to Fighting for Fitness’ Let’s Roll program, a free “MMA” inspired fitness class held at Lightning MMA in Laguna Hills. Michael and his brother Yanni started attending classes in November and have never looked back!
Since starting Let’s Roll, Michael is not only completing the running, but his teachers are now asking him to mentor other kids in his class to encourage them in their fitness goals! Michael credits Let’s Roll’s instructor Anthony Frank for encouraging him to work hard and never give up! He even uses some of Anthony’s phrases to help coach his peers!
Michael is constantly improving his fitness, as well as his boxing and wrestling techniques, and we at Fighting for Fitness are very proud of him!
