| Fighting for Fitness' Reality Eating program brings together a balance of nutrition, taste and simplicity to encourage today's busy families to eat healthier. A leading indicator of childhood obesity is whether a family eats meals together. This program's goal is not only to empower kids and their families to eat more nutritious food, but to teach them simple cooking techniques so they can be prepared on a regular basis at home! Our Reality Eating program consists of educating kids on what good nutrition looks and tastes like and by showing how small changes can make a huge impact. Some small changes we advocate are: White milk instead of flavored milk ground turkey instead of ground beef whole wheat pasta instead of regular pasta. We sponsor Healthy Dinner Nights and Healthy cooking Kitchen Seminars to help educate our participants on techniques and tips to make healthy cooking less intimidating.
